dc.description.abstractThe study was carried out basing on the topic “Factors affecting oral health care seeking behaviours among community members of Nakaseke”. It aimed at determining community member’s awareness of the available dental health care services, assessing the accessibility of dental health care services and assessing patient’s satisfaction with the quality of dental oral health services. The study employed both quantitative and qualitative research designs where both questionnaires and interview guides were used to collect data from the field. All data was grouped and analyzed in a statistical way where by data was presented in tables showing frequencies and percentages. The following results were obtaining basing on the study finding; concerning awareness of the availability of dental services, most of the patients are aware and they have ever visited a dentist for consultation, they lack enough money to cater for treatment in hospitals, some patients seek treatment of their teeth from traditional healers among others. Pertaining accessibility of dental health services, patients fear to go to the hospitals due to higher charges on the dental treatment, most of the patient’s dental plan is affected negatively due higher cost charged on the service and also satisfaction with the quality of dental health services, most of the patients are unsatisfied with the quality of dental services offered, they face a problem of insufficient dental personnel to cater for them, they are not equally attended to by the dentists among others. The researcher recommends that the government should put more dental personnel at the hospital to cater for the big population, the Ministry of Health should also organize awareness seminars to sensitize the community, should also provide enough medicine in the hospital, should allocate enough funds in the national budget to cater for buying more ambulances, should put close monitoring on the dentists in the hospital who ignores patients among others.en_US
